REUSE FOR LESS WASTE IN EVERYDAY LIFE

REUSE FOR LESS WASTE IN EVERYDAY LIFE

Reusing things is an essential part of the zero-waste lifestyle and a basic rule of thumb with which you produce significantly less waste in your daily life. Today I would like to show you what you can reuse and to what extent that helps you live without plastic.

WHY REUSE THINGS?

If you ended up here with me on the environmental project, surely you are fed up with all the single-use products, right? Single-use products are designed to generate massive profits for the industry. Because one-way has to be bought over and over again, they are soulless products that are packaged in plastic and end up in the environment as plastic waste. That should no longer be supported and will not be. We now clearly feel that the demand for sustainable, natural, and durable products is changing. And the big corporations and manufacturers will have noticed too.

WHAT CAN YOU REUSE?

Things you can reuse leave less or no trash. You should always rethink your purchases because there is often a better and more sustainable alternative to organic products. Here I want to give you some examples of how you can avoid plastic waste simply by reusing it.

JUTE BAGS

The old jute cotton keeps you cold for half an eternity and is the perfect replacement for the plastic bag and, of course, for the paper bag. Because the paper bag seems very respectful to the environment, it also consumes natural resources such as water and wood in the production process, which requires a lot of energy. The jute bag is a durable and eco-friendly alternative.

FRUIT AND VEGETABLE BAGS

I often see people shopping, packing packaged goods in thin plastic fruit and vegetable bags. Simply because the bags are free anyway, if you simply carry reusable fruit and vegetable bags with you when you go shopping, you can easily buy potatoes, tomatoes, mushrooms, and many other unwrapped foods, even in classic supermarkets. BAMBOO STRAWS These reusable bamboo straws are made from sustainable wood and replace the dying plastic straws that lie on the world’s beaches. In addition to stainless steel and glass straws, there is another sustainable alternative: simply do without the straw.

MENSTRUAL CUP

It’s true that I have no idea about feminine hygiene. Still, I know that having reusable menstrual cups will save a lot of plastic waste in the bathroom. The menstrual cup is made of silicone and is generally packaged without plastic.

HAND TISSUES

A welcome and reusable alternative to tissues made from plastic packaging. These tissues can be easily washed and reused thousands of times. Make sure to change and wash tissues regularly, so bacteria don’t stand a chance. There are thousands of other alternatives. For example, the cotton ball is a replacement for kitchen paper or reusable cloth pads instead of plastic cotton pads.

REUSE FOR LESS WASTE

Isn’t it that simple? For some long-lasting items, you may need to invest an additional euro or two. But if you’re smart, you know it – it’s worth it compared to a single-use product.
