Sealing – The unbeatable packaging solution
Interesting facts about seals
Seals have been certified documents for thousands of years, proving that these items are intact. Sealing is also synonymous with a high level of safety in gastronomy because this method can ensure the protection and higher freshness of food during transportation. In addition, you can work more efficiently and save time and resources. We answer the most important questions about sealing.
That’s it: A method that saves time and resources and ensures that your food is fresh, hygienic and well packaged. It can’t get any easier than this! Our sealing system provides takeaway vendors, restaurant owners, retailers, and caterers with a unique opportunity to seal their ishes quickly and easily.
What is sealing?
In contrast to the certification of a certificate, neither a seal stamp nor varnish or wax are used for sealing in gastronomy. Instead, the Teflon coated plate is heated in a corresponding device to connect the sealing tray and the film to produce a secure seal at high temperature and adequate pressure.
To do this, insert a filled tray into the sealing frame of the machine, pull the film through it and close the lid to start the sealing process. After that, the tray is closed in such a way that the packaging can only be reopened from the film, and before that, your food has leak-proof packaging.
By the way: This basic principle is not only applicable to the sealing system described here. The sealing pliers or sealing plate also works in a similar way. Using pliers, you can seal a bag made of composite films – such as aroma bags – with a tightly sealed seam. On the other hand, the plates are sealed with Sarogold plastic wrap and used to wrap cheese, meat or baked goods to extend their freshness and shelf life.
What are the advantages of sealing?
Whether as a takeaway business, in gastronomy or catering: You benefit from the sealing system in several ways:
- Sealing guarantees you a high level of safety for your food.
Due to the sealing, the film and the tray are firmly connected to each other, and the food contained therein is absolutely water-proof. This means that they are protected by packaging during storage and transportation.
In addition, the closing ensures that the tableware is protected from external influences, such as oxygen or water vapour. In this way, your food has a longer shelf life and maintains its freshness and quality. Also, from your customer’s point of view, it guarantees the certainty of the sealed tray because it is very clear whether the package has been opened. Especially if you are serving food at a self-service counter, this kind of hygienic display is essential.
- Thanks to the sealing system, you save time and resources.
Sealed ensures that your kitchen is more efficient. For one thing, it’s easy to handle, so sealing and closing the package is quick. On the other hand, you can use the kitchen bowls for pre-allocation, thus increasing the efficiency of your process.
Because equipment, film, and tray are coordinated with each other, it is also very flexible in its application. You can use the sealing system for direct sales to your customers, delivery to companies, and your own warehousing. In terms of material costs, you can also save resources. Because sealing can extend the shelf life of food, it can reduce food waste. At the same time, you can save purchase costs because you only use film – and thus little material – as a closure.
- With sealed trays, you score with your customers.
As mentioned above, convince your customers with hygienic packaging and airtight trays. For consumers, a decisive advantage is that they can take their food home safely.
Display your products on the counter and give a view of them. This not only builds trust because the content is visible, but it also maximizes the display of your food. If you use sealed trays made of PP or coated pulp, they can also be used in microwave ovens, so your customers can comfortably heat meals directly on the package.
