Trash bags and other plastic bags are still a big problem for our environment. Today I will show you a way to fold garbage bags without plastic. Now I will give you some simple folding instructions with which you can make a garbage bag with an old newspaper. You also don’t need glue for this. An old newspaper is enough to be able to fold the garbage bags from the newspaper. Here we go!

WHY FOLD PLASTIC-FREE GARBAGE BAGS?

One billion plastic bags. This is the estimated number of plastic bags used around the world each year. 90% end up in landfills. The average European citizen uses around 500 plastic bags. FOLDING NEWSPAPER GARBAGE BAGS HOW IT WORKS

1) First unfold two layers of newspaper.

2) Fold the short side of the newspaper inward to make a square. Then fold the upper-left edge to the opposite side.

3) You can cut off the excess newspaper with scissors. If you fold the square, you should now have a triangle.

4) Fold a point on the opposite side of the newspaper.

5) Take two layers of paper and fold them. Tuck the tips into the resulting “pocket”.

6) Turn the newspaper over. Repeat the process on the other side.

7) This is how it should look at the end.

8) Finally, you can fold the ends of the bottom of the bag to allow the bag to stand firm. Completely!
