5 tips on how to find the right carry bag

This is what comes with the carry bags.

Carry bags are not just a practical aid for transportation. With the right choice, you also strengthen customer loyalty and your brand. An individual impression also generates attention for your company. We will show you which designs are carried bags and how you can find the right one for your application.

Tip 1: Choose your bag well

What should not be missing in a pedestrian zone? People with tote bags! Not surprising, as early hunters and gatherers already knew that supplies could be transported in funnels made of leaves, for example. Even today, carry bags are simply part of shopping.

That just goes to show how important they are to sales, especially since customers carry them directly in their hands for several hours. If it’s a reusable tote bag, ideally, it should be used more often.

So, take advantage of the potential of carrier bags because you can earn points with your customers, not just as a service. Your brand and customer loyalty can also be strengthened with the optimal carry bag. According to a study by the IPV (Industrial Association of Paper and Foil Packaging eV), it is part of a positive shopping experience for more than 40% of respondents if they address packaging. More than half of the participants also said that a beautiful bag makes the brand or business attractive.

Therefore, it is important that you find the bag that best suits your business and purpose.

Tip 2: Use the right material

The first question that arises when choosing a material is: Do you want a disposable or reusable carrying bag? On the one hand, this depends on the budget, but it is also decisive when selecting the material. Because the bags are made of the following materials, depending on the design.

  • Fleece

The fleece is reminiscent of textiles but is also made of PP plastic fibres. This makes the fibres more stable and tears resistant than woven textiles and, at the same time, 100% recyclable.

Plus, the fleece bags are splash-proof and cleanable. This makes them easy to clean, which is crucial for a reusable solution. The denser the material, the stronger it is.

  • Cotton

Cotton is a natural and renewable raw material. Cotton bags are sturdy and durable, especially since they are washable. It is important that the material is certified and therefore does not contain harmful substances.

  • R PET

R PET bags are made from recycled PET bottles and therefore save resources. Apart from that, the material impresses with the fact that it is stable, tear-resistant and durable. Also, an R PET bag can be cleaned and cleaned after use.

  • Paper

Bags are highly appreciated by consumers because they are made from natural and renewable raw materials. They also save resources because they are 100% recyclable. The kraft paper used makes the bags especially stable.

The higher the grammage, the stronger the material. If the bag has a cardboard insert, it can support even more weight. Another difference between paper bags is the handle. It consists of a folded sheet of paper or is wound on a paper cord. It can also consist of another material, for example, a PP cord or a cotton ribbon.

  • (Bio) plastic

Plastic bags have the advantage that they are light, stable and protect the content from moisture. In addition, they can be transparent and therefore allow a view of the merchandise. For the type of plastic, you will find the information PELD or PEHD. While PEHD is tear-resistant even at low thickness, PELD is of superior quality because it also shines. If it is a DKT carrying case, it offers twice the performance according to the abbreviation. This means that the hole in the bag handle is reinforced with an additional film. Speaking of handles: plastic bags have a perforated handle hole or, in the case of the shirt or knotted pockets, two handles that provide a large opening. The two loops can also be knotted. As an alternative to conventional plastic, bioplastic bags are also available, which use renewable raw materials as starting materials: their film is made up of starch and vegetable oils. Since the bags are also biodegradable, they are considered sustainable.

Tip 3: Pack Your Products Correctly

In addition to the properties of the material, it is also important that the bag is tailored to your product and your business. On the one hand, of course, it must be proportional to the size of the merchandise. In addition to the height and width of the bag, the dimensions of the bottom fold are also decisive. While a narrow crease is sufficient for a thin chocolate bar, a cake needs a bag with a particularly wide base to transport it.

When it comes to the product, think about what the material communicates or the look of a bag. With a cheap snack, customers have lower expectations of the quality of the bag than with an exclusive product. Consistent can also mean that you choose bags that are thematically matched for the holiday season or that you use a fancier bag for your gift items. This is how you create a successful shopping experience in all aspects.

By the way, this also applies to the nature of your business. While plastic bags are common for snacks or butchers, natural materials like paper or bioplastics are better suited for a health food store. A simple tote bag, be it clear, brown or white, can fit into the atmosphere of one store, while a brightly coloured bag is more suitable for another.

Tip 4: Use your bag as an advertising medium

The name says it all: Bags are transported and therefore moved in public spaces. And there they will see them! Take advantage of this potential and design your bag individually printed with your logo and your company colours. In this way, they generate a large number of visual contacts on the streets and in pedestrian areas, increasing the awareness of your company.

With reusable bags, you can further increase this range because the idea is that your customers use this bag a lot and are seen by more people.

Since packaging is a useful transport aid for your customers, this added value makes it a pleasant form of advertising. Another advantage: It is a real advertising medium because your customers make your name known and show that they are buying from you. If you consider how much classic print advertising or posters cost, the packaging is also very cheap.
